What does the law make compulsory with respect to weight and measure?

Ans
With respect to weight and measure, the following laws are made compulsory :
a.     There should be standardized mark or the stamp of department of weight and measures on the beam of balance.
b.    A weight has to be made up of metal and not any of other material such as wood.
c.     There should be hole in the centre of every weight. It should be filled with lead. This lead should bear a mark of department of weight and measures.
d.    The unmark weight is considered as non-standardized. The department takes notice of any such incident and punishes the retailer as per rule.
